I think it's stupid. It's just a bunch of Canadian cliches mixed in with some negative untruths about our beautiful city. I don't like that people insist on supporting insults about our city. It's an amazing area to live in, even Harrow!

I realize it's a joke, but it's a stupid joke.

I only watched the video once but didn't see anything wrong with it, what were the untruths about the city? I didn't take it as Windsor bashing at all, but rather making fun of silly things. Maybe I missed something. I thought it was completely harmless. I mean its not like he was singing about all the drugs and prostitutes on our streets, and those are the real truths.

I didn't see one negative untruths at all actually.

The only thing that really was a joke was the Harrow comment, which everyone jokes about that lol.

Uggghhh..... Your comment about drugs and prostitutes is case in point. EVERY city has that problem. I don't know the stats, but I'd bet Windsor has less of a problem with that than most cities.

The lines that bothered me in the song were that there's no jobs and nothing to do. I moved out west in the middle of an economic boom and people still talked about Windsor like it was a piece of crap. The reason is because many citizens do not advocate for this area.

the two go hand in hand... lol

If there are not very many jobs... then alot of people are probably working with a tight budget at best... and there for you can't afford to go out to do very much... right?

I dunno... I get ur point.. but i don't see the big deal. I mean how many rap songs do YOU hear that are about rainbows and butterflies anyways... ?
Most of them are some form of complaining.. lol Not all.. but it seems like alot of them... It coulda been soo much worse..

If the worst the guy said is that there are no jobs and there is nothing to do.. i think we're doing ok... lol Alot of places are like that right now...

I don't see what was so wrong or negative about it. In fact there were things mentioned like Freedom Fest fireworks, Canada Day, Colosanti's, Jack Miner's and more, so how are those things negative untruths? Those are positive things aren't they? It speaks of truth about things...HST...we don't live in igloos...or have polar bears...lol. Oh and the reception at the river...hehe. But I think it's a neat song aboot (lol)...Windsor and it's surrounding area.

My point was that Windsor is VERY well known for its drugs and prostitutes, and yet nothing like that was in the song. You think him saying there are no jobs and nothing to do are untruths? I'm pretty sure to some people those are some very very real truths.

The job situation is getting better.
How is there nothing to do???? We live in the middle of several amazing waterways. We have a lot of festivals, a diverse cultural community, world class wineries, parks, two entertainment complexes with great acts, a winning OHL team, plus a huge city and world class entertainment, shopping and sports 10 min across the border. What do people want exactly? Someone to hold your hand and entertain you like a child? There is TONS to do around here.

But it's not a big deal lol. We'll have to agree to disagree. I'm okay with that. It just bugs me is all.

I just really wish people would advocate more for our area. I can't tell you how many clients we deal with that have moved here for their job (but wait, there AREN'T any) who say "wow, Windsor is much nicer than I thought it would be. I heard such bad things about it. I love it here!"

And this viral video will do nothing good for our area.

This is genuine, not a dig: If there are still vacancies in the tourism board, would it be something you would be interested in?

Thanks, that is something I would be interested in depending on the time commitment (as I have a new little one). I will consider looking into it. My passion for the area is apparent. :)

Yes it is :) and they've seemed to have trouble getting people in there who would actually do some good in the position. If it was still open, and worked with your schedule I think you would do very well in the position.

I would love Windsors image to be cleansed.

We actually had the highest jump in employment in the country and we are no longer at the very bottom of the list. That's something, I'd say.

I know Windsor has been dubbed "Sin City" because of the strip clubs and such, but drugs and prostitutes? I guess I didn't realize we were "very well known" for that? How can I live here 30 years and not know we were "very well known" for that?

I agree with you Danielle! There definitely is a lot to do, you just have to be willing to search for it. Plus, it just keeps getting better, IMO. This city keeps getting more and more to do. I also agree you sell this city very well, and perhaps you could be helpful in shedding new light.

Prostitution is legal in windsor and that is one of the major reasons its sin city, as well as the fact that it has more bars per capita of any city in the world.

My point was not to bash windsor, but to show that his video was harmless. Windsor is well known for things other then unemployement.

No, prostitution is NOT legal here. Being a licensed escort is however, and the line is drawn because of the vague definition of escort.

It's that way EVERYWHERE, mostly. Escorts are legal because they are meant to be "dates", not sex. We all know in a lot of cases it gets there, but that is not the definition of an escort. It is illegal to solicit sex.

Prostitution is NOT legal anywhere in Canada, as far as I understand.

I was under the impression that we were Sin City not only due to the bars, but because we had the most strip clubs.

When you can legally have sex with your paid escort, that is what most of the world would consider prositution. They have their facts straight, so really, its not bull.

The money to an escort is for THEIR COMPANY, not sexual favours. People can pay for their time, it is STILL ILLEGAL to pay them for sex.

Prostitution is illegal here, and you can still get arrested sleeping with your paid escort, because it is illegal to buy sex.

Your paying for the date, and the sex is a favor. That is why its legal. Its a loophole.

I think it was a funny video... There was nothing untrue about it, minus the 365 days of winter haha... I thought it was great. It was funny and he was making a joke, everything he said was true haha...
