If your friend told you an embarrassing story about something they did...

say...

that they went to a wedding and their GRANDMA was wearing the same outfit as they were and every single close family and friend got to witness the embarrassing event.....

and after they told you this embarrassing story - you laughed so hard you cried at their expense, in fact you continue to chuckle to yourself every single time the image pops into you head...

is that mean?????

hypothetically speaking?

hmmmmmm

well I think the laughing to yourself is probably why the "friend" told you in the first place. Sounds like someone who also enjoys a good laugh and can laugh at themselves.

However, then sharing the story on M2M - not cool - you better hope this "friend" doesn't come on here

I think as long as you care about the person you should be forgiven for laughing. Laughing because something is hilarious is very different from laughing to be mean.

you know when girls ask their friends "what are you going to wear" to an event..

perhaps, to be supportive of my friend, I should mention it might be wise to include asking grandma what she is going to be wearing--just to be safe!

That would be a supportive helpful friend....Right?!!?

Laugh when appropriate. A situation like that then yeah i would. Don't be like me and laugh when its not expected to laugh. I have a bad reaction gage. If that makes sense lol.

a *good* or close friend - laugh away... 'cause you know if the situation were reversed, she'd be laughing *with* you too :) a casual friend, maybe just a slight chuckle to share the pain of embarrassment ;-)

ya that about sums me up perfectly...I love to laugh and love to find the humour in almost everything.

those who "get" my humour realize I like to tease and it is never meant to be mean. I also gladly receive teasing back...the back and forth is what I enjoy.
