HI Ladies,

I am looking to meet other moms in the area. I am new to Windsor and don't know many people I would like to go for coffee or join any groups out there that already do this. It can be with or without the kiddies.

Thanks

Oh wow. Not sure how this old post went by unnoticed. Perhaps someone could chime in and tell her about MOPS and St. Mary's playgroups, and anything else you know about. I don't know a lot about them.

Wow I didn't see this either!!

How old are your children?

There are 2 MOPS (Mothers of PreSchoolers)that meet regularly in the area.
Look for the Windsor/Tecumseh Groups and the info is there:

Ontario Early Years Centres (ages 0-6)
Windsor-West

Windsor-St Clair
http://www.children....aspx?Center=243

St. Mary's (Found in the Windsor-West link) offers workshops for just the parents. They offer childcare for children during these workshops too, if needed.

Parent and Literacy Centres
Scroll down to the Windsor locations:

There are often parents with older children at these places too. Where in the city are you located? I'm sure there has to be a few of us in your area!!

Sorry to hijack a bit, but how do the OEYC centers work? Do you literally just kinda show up between their open hours? Just wondering what to expect as I've been thinking of taking my 3 year old for some time now.

Yes. You can come and go as you please, but you must stay and supervise your child. They usually have a set time for snack and circle time, but like I said you can join in or leave anytime.
