It started Sunday night when i came home ( gone for weekend) i noticed she wasnt "right" I told DH to take her in to the vet monday.
He took her out to bring her, and he said she was fine, acting normal.
I came home and she was acting not right again. I took her in and did a overall exam check, no broken bones, blood work, all that came back normal, sugar was a bit high, but he said its cus she may be nervous.
The vet told me its a behavour issue. Like something reallllly spooked her. I didnt buy it. I know my dog. She is 10.
So back to the vet again cus she wont stop shaking, hiding, now panting, and goes in spurts where you cant touch her or pick her up she cries.
I got some pain meds for her ( medacam?) and that does shit all.
They said give it to her for 7 days. I want to know what the next step is. I HATE seeing her in pain suffering for more than 3 days. Its aweful.
any clue what could be wrong? next step?

If there is no fever, vomiting, lethargy or other obvious signs of illness than it sounds like anxiety to me. My Golden has major issues with anxiety, some days are better than others. Is there anything around the house that has changed? any new noises outside, even things that seem hush to you? You can try making a "safe zone" with a bed, toys etc… Some dogs like having an open crate with a blanket over it. My dog was freaking out for a week this summer and it turned out to be the new generator next door was freaking her out.

Sorry, with I could help.

I agree that it the metacam hasn't helped and all lab results came back normal then it may be anxiety.

brought her back again today, last night was bad, she cried out in a dead sleep 3x last night. couldnt touch her.
The vet today made her try to walk, and her legs were going inwards, he said he was positive it was a back injury, either sprain back, or slipped bulging discs, which cant tell from xray. SO more diff meds to add with the other, she is high, but its very obvious she is feeling a bit better. hopeing after 10 days she will be better. if not, Im not having her go through surgery. Especially since i dont have a definitive answer....
thanks for the advice :)

Take her someplace else if you feel you are not getting the answers that you like...or maybe a referral to a specialist.
