Do you think it's cruel to put a muzzle on a dog for extreme barking?

Roxy is getting out of control. I was so embarressed at the vets and at petsmart. It's non stop. Last year i tried the shock collar, but she got used the tingle and barked anyways. I bought a muzzle yesterday and tried it when company came over. She barked once and laid down. I actually got to have a quiet conversation. I'm hoping it works, but time will tell.

I wouldn't muzzle a dog because of extreme barking.

Yes. It teaches nothing and frustrates the dog. Training is best. Really, taking her to a good trainer will help you and her.
