The 2013 City Of Windsor Voucher Program for feral and stray cats and low income residents will be coming out in April.

Please call 311 on APRIL 3rd if you are feeding and caring for feral and stray cats - four vouchers will be available to feral cat caregivers.

Low income residents are allowed two vouchers for house cats.

WECHS clinic spay/neuter will continue to be $50 until May 1st when it goes back up to $75.

Please  take advantage of this program and help reduce the number of unwanted cats and kittens.

They are great there!  We used the program for a stray cat last year who took up residence on our porch.  She was very young and theres a lot of male cats in our area.  I brought her in to be fixed, they micro-chipped her and gave her a round of shots.  Turned out she was already pregnant, of course they terminated the pregnancy.  I was a little upset about that, but in the end, that would have been another litter of kittens on the street with no home.

We have another 9 at press count to do this year and that number could easily go up in the next month when people typically start dumping cats around here. It makes a huge difference to us to have vouchers to cut back the cost a little.  A great program.  Just hope people who call in actually use the vouchers they receive this year so there is no carry over and then maybe the city will up the budget.
