I like to aim for the beginning of December. It's maybe a little early, people still have Halloween decorations up....you might confuse people lol.

Lights go up the first Saturday after Rememberance Day ( because I'm not freezing my petoot off doing it later) and go on after American Thanksgiving. Tree and indoor decor go up the last weekend in November. Everything comes down ( outside included regardless of weather) before January 6th for some weird superstitious reason passed down by my crazy family, though I cannot remember the reason...lol

December 1st. Lights get put up outside anytime now, but they don't get turned on till December 1st.

Dec 1st. I might allow the outside lights up earlier since there is no sense in waiting until it is colder out. But, they do not get turned on until Dec 1.

I love the feeling of the Christmas season, so I like it to last as long as possible :). We decorate about mid November.

Usually halfway through Dec. I put the tree up.  If I put it up sooner then I'm just constantly trying to keep my daycare children and my cats out of it.  I take it down around New Year's Day.  I don't decorate outside because I hate taking stuff back down, so I just don't put it up anymore or else it's likely that stuff will still be up come spring.

I don't do outdoor lights either. Way too much work!

It used to be December 1, but lately I've been trying to do it earlier (like the last week of November at the latest). I've had a couple gatherings near the end of November or beginning of December as well, so that helps me convince my husband that it needs to go up before!
