Howdy Friends!!!

2015 is here!!!!  And we are busy busy busy.  The new year is full of surprises.  We have hit 49, 882 hats and counting.

Our B.I.G. Hats will be delivered to area agencies this month and we continue to collect them at each knit club.  We have started sorting our yarn a bit differently.  Baby hat yarn that is given out to volunteers is now mainly baby colours, and all adult coloured and wool yarn will be used for the school age and adult hats.

This month we have a couple spots for our school programs open so if you have been awaiting a date for a knit club for your school please contact us.

We appreciate your sharing your experience with us.  We hear often from new members to our group that they were told about us at the local yarn store, while at the library or even by others at their children's school.  Keep up the good work!!!!

And yarn, thank you to all who keep sharing our needs, as when the yarn stops coming in our project will end.  We appreciate how diligent you are in discovering new ways to share our yarn needs on Facebook, by doing yarn drives at work and to everyone who knows a crafter and begs them for their extras, thank you.

We look so forward to you coming to a knit club near you so please pick a date and come on out.  We are super excited to announce that we have new emerging leaders who are coming on board.

Our leadership is as follows.

Budimir and Fontainebleau Library is led by Marjorie

Forest Glade and Central Library is led by Dawn

Woodslee Library is led by Donna and Juliette

Leamington, Kingsville and Harrow Library is led by Rose

LaSalle and Tecumseh Library is led by Irene

And to all who know Tracy, she will be their emergency leader now so that means no more challenging calendar and missed dates, Yahoo!!!  This is such a challenge for us in the winter months as we have other events which overlap and many times we do not have enough volunteers to say yes to everything.  Now we will be ensuring each of these knit clubs will be done each month or on their regular rotation without a missed date.

A special thing happening this month, that is reflected in our calendar, is we will not be hosting a looming day at the leamington and harrow library each month.  It will be rotated like our Windsor Library programming.  So last month we taught at Leamington and Kingsville on a Saturday, this month we teach at Harrow and Kingsville.  Next month will be Leamington and Kingsville again, not Harrow.  We hope that this change in scheduling will be better for all who attend.

In closing, thank you for all you do.  We love you and those who receive your hats love you too.:)
