Protecting animals since 1949, the Windsor/Essex County Humane Society is a registered charity that provides temporary shelter for more than 6,500 animals each year. The Humane Society's primary concern is ensuring the welfare of all animals, large and small, wild and domesticated. We achieve our goal by providing animal care, adoption and fostering services, public education programs and through cruelty investigations. We speak for those who cannot speak for themselves.
Canadian Tire Money! The Humane society takes that as donations!!! The humane society can purchase thing that the animals need!
The Windsor-Essex County Humane Society is warning that a rabies outbreak is possible unless steps are taken to control the feral cat population. Four thousand cats were euthanized last year. The Society estimates that 5,000 a year will have to be put down by 2010. The Town of Lakeshore has agreed to cover most of the cost turning strays in to the animal shelter. Residents would pay $10, the municipality would pay $30.
