The Clinic provides hands-on assistance and support to breastfeeding mothers as well as breast pump rentals. It is the largest breastfeeding clinic in North America and deals with complex breastfeeding problems. It also offers a 24-hour breastfeeding telephone help line for women who deliver at Women's College.

Volunteers who are trained and experienced will answer any of your questions regarding breastfeeding by telephone. They also have local community groups who have monthly support meetings where Leaders facilitate informal, guided discussions. During these discussions mothers receive accurate, up-to-date and personalized breastfeeding information and support for their role as a breastfeeding parent. In addition, mothers are able to draw on the experience of other mothers who attend.

PRENATAL CLASSES will prepare you for your birth experience. Learn what you might expect during your pregnancy, birth, and early weeks with your baby. Take a hospital tour, watch videos, practice comfort measures such as breathing and massage, share concerns with other expectant parents. Our prenatal classes also include a Monday evening Breastfeeding Class and five post-natal classes.

POST-NATAL CLASSES cover a variety of topics including: adjustment to parenthood, staying fit, coping with fatigue and isolation, going back to work, daycare, weaning, child development and more. As well, these classes provide an opportunity to meet other mothers and babies, to share experiences and provide support for the new mother. Everyone is welcome whether you will be delivering at TEGH or not.
